RALEIGH, (AP) — Republican Pat McCrory keeps racking up fund-raising dollars while Democrat Walter Dalton is publicizing endorsements in the North Carolina governor's race.
McCrory's campaign announced Tuesday it had raised $3.1 million for the three months ending Sept. 30 and had $2.3 million in cash entering the final five weeks of the race. The additional money means McCrory has now raised about $9.5 million this election cycle.
A Dalton campaign spokesman said the lieutenant governor has been encouraged by his financial support but will release numbers when next required on Oct. 29. McCrory had a 6-to-1 cash advantage over Dalton as of June 30.
Dalton's campaign said Tuesday it had endorsements from national fair-pay advocate Lilly Ledbetter and the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. McCrory is the former Charlotte mayor.
