RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - On November 6, voters will decide who takes the top job in 11 states and two territories, according to the National Governors Association.
In addition to North Carolina, the states in play include New Hampshire, Delaware, Vermont, West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Utah, Montana, and Washington. The U.S. territories of American Samoa and Puerto Rico also have races on the ballot.
Seven incumbent governors are seeking re-election.
In North Carolina, Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue chose not to run for a second term amid disastrously low approval ratings. Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton won the party's nomination and is running against the Republican that Perdue beat in 2008 -- Pat McCrory. Libertarian Barbara Howe is also seeking the seat.
