DURHAM, (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama is returning to North Carolina to build support for her husband on college campuses and to encourage a techno-savvy method the Obama campaign is using to register voters.

Mrs. Obama was scheduled to speak Wednesday afternoon at North Carolina Central University in Durham, followed later by an address at East Carolina University in Greenville.

The Obama campaign says the first lady will speak in part about encouraging voter registration through a campaign web site called www.GottaVote.com . The site gives smartphone and tablet users the ability to write their signatures on voter registration forms.

The first lady has visited North Carolina several times going back to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. She most recently came to Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention.
