RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - He is a rising star in the Republican Party and now New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is lending his star power to fellow Republican Pat McCrory. On September 13, Christie will campaign with McCrory at at "Carolina Comeback" rally at Catawba College in Salisbury.

McCrory is graduate of the college.

“Governor Christie is a strong, inspirational and visionary leader who is not afraid of telling people the truth and treating people like adults,” said Pat McCrory in a news release.

Christie will also attend a fundraiser for McCrory, who faces Democratic nominee Walter Dalton for the state's top job.

A recent poll from the Democratic polling firm of Public Policy Polling shows McCrory leading Dalton by six points, 45 percent to 39 percent. Libertarian candidate Barbara Howe is pulling 5 percent.
