CHARLOTTE, (AP) — Campaign aides say President Barack Obama's convention speech Thursday is being moved indoors due to possible severe weather.

The aides say the entire program also will take place inside, including Vice President Joe Biden's speech.

The move aces out thousands of people who had obtained "community credentials" for the event. Instead, convention officials announced the president will host a conference call on Thursday for those who've been displaced. They will also be invited to an Obama campaign event between now and election day.

Convention CEO Steve Kerrigan said in a statement: “We have been monitoring weather forecasts closely and several reports predict thunderstorms in the area, therefore we have decided to move Thursday’s proceedings to Time Warner Cable Arena to ensure the safety and security of our delegates and convention guests.”
