TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Mitt Romney is plunging into the final 67 days of the presidential campaign focused on jobs and the economy.

Romney depicted President Barack Obama during his nomination acceptance speech as a well-meaning but inept man who must be replaced.

As Romney put it to delegates Thursday night: "Americans have supported this president in good faith. But today, the time has come to turn the page."

Obama will hold his own convention next week. In the meantime, he's using his powers of incumbency to make difficult Romney's mission to replace him. Obama plans to visit a Texas military base Friday, exactly two years after declaring the end of the U.S. combat mission in Iraq.
