RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Lucille Dalton, wife of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Walter Dalton, is appealing to women to support her husband's campaign by joining "Women for Dalton."
In a campaign e-mail, Mrs. Dalton takes the Republican-led General Assembly and her husband's Republican opponent, Pat McCrory, to task.
"Women are under fire," says the e-mail signed by Mrs. Dalton. "The Republican legislature is attacking women's health, cutting childcare, and firing thousands of women workers.
While Pat McCrory would simply rubber stamp the War on Women, my husband Walter Dalton will stand up for me, our daughter, and all of North Carolina's women."
Mrs. Dalton also asks women supporters to knock on doors and reach out to friends on behalf of the Democratic nominee.
Polls consistently show Dalton trailing McCrory by five to seven points. McCrory also holds a substantial fundraising lead.
Libertarian Barbara Howe also will appear on the ballot. |
