RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - He's active in the local Rotary Club, has played in a congressional baseball game, and has earned a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. And now 7th District Congressman Mike McIntyre is also being ribbed by a Washington D.C. newspaper's gossip column as "fast becoming the most interesting man in Congress" based on his expanding good-guy biography.
Roll Call's "Heard on the Hill" blog, which sports a photo of McIntyre in a baseball uniform, notes that McIntyre's official congressional biography is 1,770 words long.
The paper's ribbing ends with this line:
"No word on whether he is allowed to touch the art in museums or if his mother has a tattoo that says 'Son.'"
McIntyre, the Democratic incumbent, faces Republican challenger David Rouzer in the general election. Rouzer is a state senator from Johnston County.
