The House adjourned Tuesday afternoon after action on more than a dozen bills. The Senate finished voting on legislation around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday

 

Bills heading to Gov. Beverly Perdue's desk in the session's final hours would delay new and higher ferry tolls for another year and exempt newer cars from emissions inspections. 

The state's public school calendar law also was changed.

 

Perdue will have 30 days to decide whether to sign each bill into law, veto them or let them become law without her signature. The Legislature doesn't plan to return to work until January, after the November elections. Perdue could call lawmakers back if she issues vetoes.
