CHARLOTTE, (AP) — A state audit shows paperwork errors at the Charlotte Police Department.
The Charlotte Observer reported the North Carolina Criminal Justice Standards Division found problems with the certification and training of nearly 100 officers.
Minor problems were found in the paperwork for another 88 officers.
The audit found past criminal charges were missing on several forms for some officers.
The results of drug screening tests were missing for other officers. Others are missing signatures or a notary's stamp.
Deputy Police Chief Katrina Graue says the audit did not find any reason to take officers off of the street.
Attorney General spokeswoman Noelle Talley says most of the problems have been corrected.
The review found that every officer is currently certified and has completed required in-service training.
