American Planning Association Names Salisbury To Top 10 Great Neighborhoods List PDF Print E-mail

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Downtown revitalization efforts have paid off for the Rowan County town of Salisbury. The state's Commerce Department reports that the American Planning Association (APA) has named the town to its top 10 great neighborhoods list. 

 
Salisbury is one of North Carolina's original Main Street localities and will host the Main Street Conference next January.
 
Other town to make the APA's list are:
 
- Garden District, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
- Lower Highlands and Historic Downtown, Fall River, Massachusetts
- Fells Point, Baltimore, Maryland
- Heritage Hill, Grand Rapids, Michigan
- Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
-  Cooper-Young, Memphis, Tennessee
- Fairmont-Sugar House, Salt Lake City, Utah
- Beacon Hill, Seattle, Washington
-  Downtown Walla Walla, Walla Walla, Washington.
