LUMBERTON, (AP) — A Robeson County firefighter has been arrested and charged with setting six fires over a two-year period.

Sheriff's Lt. Brian Duckworth says 18-year-old Austin Seth Hunt of Rowland is charged with six counts of setting fires to woodlands and grasslands.

Duckworth says the fires happened from September 2010 to earlier this month.

He says two of the fires happened while Hunt was a member of the Rowland Fire Department. Hunt has since been with the Raynham-McDonald Fire Department.

Duckworth says Hunt reported some of the fires himself.

It was not clear if Hunt has a lawyer.
