RALEIGH, SGRToday.com - At a work session this week, Forsyth County commissioners were told they could be facing a $7.6 million gap between revenues and expenses for the 2012-2013 fiscal year that begins July 1. The Winston-Salem Journal reports that if those numbers come to fruition, it would take a 2.28 cent tax increase to close the hole without cutting expenses.

Commissioners and staff also fear that dropping home values in the county could create an even deeper budget hole for the 2013-2014 year, according to the paper. The revaluation is scheduled for 2013.
