RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - As the East coast braces for what could be an unprecedented storm dubbed Hurricane Sandy, Washington D.C.'s government apparatus has all but ground to a halt. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management said emergency employees had been told to report Monday, but non-essential workers were told to take cover.

The Washington Post reports that non-emergency workers will be allowed to access adminstrative leave.

As of Monday at 2 p.m., the behemoth storm looked to have New Jersey in its path for a direct hit.
