RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The National Governors Association has announced it will work with Illinois, Alabama, Arkansas, and Iowa in a policy academy geared toward improving the competitiveness of the states' manufacturing, assembling, and processing firms.
The academy is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. It will run from September 2012 through April 2013.
According to the NGA, its staff will share the lessons and accomplishments of the participating states with all of the states and territories at the end of the academy.
“We are committed to improving energy efficiency and making businesses more competitive,” said Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe in a news release. “Through the NGA policy academy, we look forward to continuing our efforts to make changes and innovations in the diverse industries that drive Arkansas’s economy.”
