DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Jurors have resumed deliberations in the case of a conservative scholar who claims she was passed over for teaching jobs at the University of Iowa law school because of liberal bias.

 
Jurors returned to the federal courthouse in Davenport on Tuesday morning to continue considering whether Teresa Wagner's constitutional rights have been violated.
 
Wagner claims that liberals on the faculty opposed her appointment because they did not want an outspoken female opponent of abortion rights to join their elite club.
 
The university says Wagner wasn't hired because she botched a 2007 job interview.
 
Jurors began deliberating Monday evening after a weeklong trial.
 
The case is being closely watched across the county because a win by Wagner could shake up faculty hiring practices.
