RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Eric Becoasts has only been superintendent of Durham Public Schools since 2010, but her has already garnered national recognition. Last week Becoasts was nmaed Superintendent of the Year by the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NASBE).

“I think it speaks to the hard work and dedication of the individuals here in the school system,” said Becoats to the Durham Herald Sun. “It speaks to our efforts to improve outcomes for our students. It does not happen in isolation. I’m the person leading the charge, but a lot of other people make it happen.”

Becoasts will accept the award at NASBE’s Annual Conference Nov. 17 in Nashville.
