RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Don Lemon, the anchor of CNN's weekend news program "CNN Newsroom," will speak on Monday, September 17 at NC Central University in Durham to kick of the university's Lyceum series for the new academic year.
The event will be held at the B.N. Duke Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. Lemon is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public and there is no charge.
Lemon has been with CNN since 2006. Prior to joining the cable network, he worked in Chicago and New York. Last year Ebony magazine named him one of the most influential African Americdans in its Ebony Power 150 ranking.
Lemon is also an author. In his book "Transparent," he announced he is gay.
According to NC Central, the NCCU Lyceum series promotes and enhances the intellectual, cultural and aesthetic aspects of student growth and development through a series of outstanding lectures, concerts, dramas and exhibitions.
