WILLIAMSBURG, (AP) — The College of William and Mary plans to increase its in-state undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees by 3.3 percent in 2012-13.

The Board of Visitors voted Friday to raise tuition and fees by $438, to $13,570, for Virginia undergraduates. The college says it's the lowest percentage increase for undergraduates in more than a decade.

The total cost for undergraduates, including room and board, will increase by 3.9 percent to $22,888. Out-of-state students will pay $46,662, a 4 percent increase. That includes a 3.8 percent increase for tuition and fees.

The board also approved increasing need-based financial aid by $1.4 million.
